Who We Are

LXDance Academy was originally founded in 2005 by Ceri Wild and was previously known as Little Dancers. In 2020 Alex Edwards took over the school after teaching there for 8 years and we rebranded as LXDance Academy.

LXDance Academy provides a variety of dance classes to ages 2+ to families in East Sheen and surrounding areas. We are a welcoming school that prides itself on being fully inclusive and aiding our students to reach their full potential.

The ethos of the school is to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment in which our students can explore the world of dance with enjoyment and professionalism. We are one big dance family and we love to support each other on our individual journeys.

Exams are offered in ballet, tap and modern with the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. Our syllabus classes start at the Pre-Primary level for our younger students and work all the way up to the vocational levels, where pupils can also gain UCAS points for University.

Alongside our syllabus classes we also offer lessons in Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Acro, giving our students the opportunity to have a well rounded journey through the world of Dance.

Our competition team takes part in a range of different competitions, including the prestigious All England Dance Festivals. Students are carefully selected for our team, based on their ability, determination and commitment to their dance classes. Taking part in competitions allows students to represent our dance academy to the wider dance community whilst gaining invaluable performing experience and growing in confidence.

All students are invited to take part in our biannual show where they are able to showcase their talents and get a taste for performing on a stage with lights and costumes. Our shows are always a great success with the pupils thoroughly enjoying the comradery of dancing alongside their peers. Our senior students also have the opportunity to perform solos, duets and group dances in our biannual Senior Showcase.

We have had students successfully audition and perform with the English Youth Ballet as well as having students train with the Royal Ballet School in their associate programmes.

We regularly provide students with performing opportunities including productions at the o2 and other London venues.
